Winsing Art Place Bookstore, in conjunction with its 2020 exhibition Housing the Friendship, has collected several publications by Czech-American architect and educator John Hejduk (1929–2000), including Mask of Medusa (1985), the first part of the trilogy, and other valuable works, such as Bovisa (1987), and Berlin Night (1993), all of which are rare and out-of-print

Hejduk firmly believed in architecture’s power to influence the spiritual realm—not only the physical structure itself, but also architectural drawings, photographs, and paintings, which he regarded as independent manifestations of architecture. Since the 1980s, Hejduk’s works have frequently been exhibited in universities and art museums worldwide. Many installation-type projects have been realized in various countries, engaging in dialogue with society. Winsing Art Place Bookstore’s collection encompasses not merely the books themselves; it is a comprehensive archive of Hejduk’s architectural legacy.

Bovisa, a district within Milan, features Hejduk’s design for an angel's "prison," complete with torture devices, such as crosses, catapults, and spiked structures. The simple drawings with white backgrounds and black lines create an eerie atmosphere, the brushwork magical and captivating. Hejduk believed in architecture’s power to influence the spiritual world. He used painting to convey the deep connection between architecture and humanity’s spiritual pursuits, thereby advancing the frontiers of architectural creation.
